Representative Nazih Matta criticized the positions of Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri and the contradiction in the discourse of resistance regarding sovereignty, noting that "the forces that today talk about sovereignty have previously pushed Lebanon towards regional alignments linked to Syria, Iran, and Hezbollah." Matta stressed that the positions of the President of the Republic are clear and firm in his commitment to the negotiating path, stressing that there is no alternative to this option in the current circumstances. Matta called on Hezbollah to hand over its weapons to the Lebanese authorities, considering that "the continuation of Israeli incursions is partly linked to the weapons remaining outside the framework of the state." He stressed that Israel and the United States will not work in Lebanon's interest.
